Paul Anderson, Midlothian, University of Virginia (2004), Politics; maintains his own political “blog” online; worked on the Wesley Clark campaign in Charlottesville.

Melissa Bell, Newport News, Christopher Newport University (2005), Political Science, minors in Communications and Women’s Studies; will be president of CNU’s student body next year.

Ashley Bolding, DeLand, Florida, University of Richmond (2006), Leadership and Political Science; secretary, Westhampton College Government Association for the coming year; Vice President for Education of Alpha Chi Omega.

Ashley Boyd, Chesapeake, Christopher Newport University (2005), Political Science, minors in Leadership and Philosophy; former president of the student body; hosts her own television show interviewing political figures in the Hampton Roads area.

Paul Brockwell, Gasburg, The College of William & Mary (2007), Religion; opinions section editor for his school newspaper; member of the Undergraduate Honor Council.

Beth Burgin, Floyd, Hollins University (2004), English; will attend William and Mary Law this fall; president of Hollins University student body; daughter of a Virginia wine maker and grew up actively participating in winery life.

Anna Collins, Richmond, Longwood University (2005), Elementary Education; plans to stay an extra year at Longwood and earn a master’s degree.

Julia East, Yorktown, James Madison University (2005), International Affairs, minors in History and Russian Studies; studied abroad in Pakistan in the summer of 2003; language skills in Urdu, Spanish, and Kurdish.

Harrison Godfrey, Arlington, The College of William and Mary (2006), International Relations; helped to found “Your Williamsburg,” an organization designed to register students to vote in Williamsburg and support a student for city council.

Shawn Healy, Alexandria, Radford University (2005), Political Science; founder and president of Radford Young Democrats; founder and current chairman of the Legislative Action Council for Radford’s student government; member of the Inter Fraternity Council’s Judicial Board.

Steven Jones, Richmond, Longwood University (2006), Communications Studies and Political Science; Judicial Board member; student Senator at Longwood.

Katherine Klepper, Keswick, Mary Washington University (2006), Historic Preservation; member of the varsity riding team; interested in historic preservation as a public policy issue.

Margaret Long, Burke, George Mason University (2005), Government and International Politics; used to ride horses competitively; studied in Italy summer 2003.

Erin McHugh, Chesapeake, The College of William and Mary (2005), Government, minor in Anthropology; member of the honor council; worked on Special Olympics through Circle K.

Darcy Newsome, Springfield, The College of William and Mary (2005), Environmental Studies and Government; attended the 2003 Free the Planet environmental leadership program; interested in grassroots activism.

Mariam Ouhamou, Alexandria, Mary Washington University (2005), International Affairs; speaks French, Arabic and Spanish; captain/founder of the women’s club lacrosse team.
