I was an active volunteer in the Boy Scout program for 18 years as a leader, trainer and program chairman on the district, council and regional levels, served on staff for the 1985 National Jamboree, Wood Badge (Boy Scout and Cub Scout Trainer), received the Silver Beaver Award. Currently serve as the New Unit Organizer for Goose Creek District. Past community service includes Jaycee Women, Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Christmas in April (Rebuilding Together), school PTAs, etc. I have been active in the Republican Party since 1969, as a volunteer.  In 1989, I joined the Loudoun County Republican Committee and have served on many candidate steering committees (local and state), as Committee Secretary for nine years, as Eastern Vice Chairman of the 10th District for 12 years (current), on State Central Committee for six years (current).  I have been a delegate to many state and local conventions since 1989. The most memorable two things that have happened to me were when Governor George W. Bush, on a swing through Northern Virginia on a campaign trip, reacting to some comments I made to him during Q&A at an event, came over and gave me a big kiss.  The second happened at a campaign rally in Northern Virginia for President George W. Bush in 2004.  The President was shaking hands going around the perimeter of the room, when he got to me I said “God bless you, Mr. President” and he kissed me again.  This time the press got the video of it and my husband snagged it from the White House pool feed.  So it’s recorded for posterity!”
