Chelsea Rock, a native of Fairfax County, Virginia, is the first graduate of a Sorensen Youth Program to join the State Advisory Board. She currently serves as the Coordinator of Special Projects for the Office of the Chief Technology Officer for the city of Washington, D.C. She is also a Master's Degree candidate studying Public Administration at American University.

Ms. Rock graduated magna cum laude from the University of Richmond in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts, where she concentrated her studies in Rhetoric & Communications and completed a two-year thesis project.

After graduation, Ms. Rock attended the 2006 College Leaders Program at the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership and remained an active alumna, becoming the first graduate of a Sorensen Youth Program to serve on a Regional Board (Richmond). Active in the Richmond community, she served on the Board of Directors’ Education Committee of the Virginia League for Planned Parenthood, the University of Richmond Young Graduates Council Community Service Committee, the Steering Committee at local nonprofit YRichmond, and has volunteered on local political campaigns from a young age.

Ms. Rock enjoys equestrian sports, culinary arts, history, and traveling.
