Since the Spring of 2000, Mr. Sparks has been the Senior Manager of State & Local Affairs for Dominion in the Northern & Western Virginia region.  He is Dominion’s local primary point of contact for government and community relations’ activities.  Mr. Sparks works with elected officials and community leaders on behalf of a number of Dominion subsidiaries including Dominion Virginia Power, Dominion Transmission, and Dominion Generation.  He has been employed with Dominion for over 31 years and has been assigned to offices in Richmond, Buena Vista, Charlottesville, and Fairfax.

Mr. Sparks has previously served with Dominion as the Director of Budgeting, Richmond; Director of Customer Service, Charlottesville; Director of Operations, Buena Vista; and as Area Manager for Community and Governmental Affairs, Charlottesville.

Among his many volunteer positions in which he has served the Virginia community are: President of the NVCC Educational Foundation (2007-2008); Chair and Board member of the Arts Council of Fairfax County (2005-2006); Chair of the International Children’s Festival (2003); Board member of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce (2002-2008) and the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce, Board Member  (20008). Mr. Sparks is a graduate of Leadership Fairfax Class of 2003 and a member of the Alumni Association.

Mr. Sparks earned a degree in Business from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. He lives in Fairfax County with his wife, Julie. They have two daughters.

    Craig is the E-Government Manager for the City of Alexandria. At our 2006 Alumni Reunion, Craig was presented the annual Service to Sorensen Award for the generous donations of his time, talents, and efforts to the work of the Sorensen Institute.
