Dr. L.D. Britt, Norfolk, surgeon, professor and vice chairman of Eastern Virginia Medical School; vice rector of Norfolk State University.

Timothy Brown, Midlothian, dean of financial and administrative services at John Tyler Community College; chairman of Chesterfield County School Board.

Jim Couch, Harrisonburg, psychology professor at James Madison University; chairman of Rockingham County Board of Supervisors; former Planning Commission Chairman.

Emily Couric, Charlottesville, journalist; former chairman, Charlottesville School Board.
Emily served in the Virginia State Senate from 1996-2001. She passed away on October 18, 2001 from pancreatic cancer. The University of Virginia has named its state-of-the-art new cancer treatment and research facility in her honor.

Larry Czarda, Fairfax, vice president of George Mason University; chairman of Fauquier County School Board.

Ross D’Urso, Warrenton, chief deputy commissioner of revenue for Fauquier County; director of local chamber of commerce; president of local Jaycees and state vice-president of Jaycees; member of Governor’s Advisory Committee on Mapping, Surveying and Land Information Systems.

Glen Francis, Portsmouth, sale manager of Hampton Roads Black Pages; chairman of Portsmouth Electoral Board; chairman of YMCA board.

Connie Gendron, Martinsville, executive director of the Virginia Museum of Natural History; member of state Board of Youth and Family Services and Board of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.

Terone Green, Richmond, administrator of a medical center; member of the state Health Services Cost Review Council, president of the Minority Health Consortium.

Kathryn Haynie, Roanoke, executive director of Planned Parenthood of the Blue Ridge; former president of PTA; chair of chamber of commerce’s education committee.

Ben King, Abingdon, human resources manager for U.S. Gypsum Co.; board of Big Brothers/Big Sisters; chairman of Washington County Republican Party.

Linda Lutes, Woodbridge, graduate student at George Washington University, former aide to member of Prince William County Board of Supervisors; member of Prince William County School Board.
According to an October 2009 email, Linda moved to Arlington "about five and a half years ago" and is not directly involved with politics, though she does stay politically active by working with her church, Unitarian Universalist of Arlington. She is active with her congregation especially in the area of social justice. She participates with VOICE, Virginians Organized for Interfaith Community Engagement, which brings together a variety of congregations in northern Virginia who advocate for dental care, quicker processing of citizenship requests, and affordable housing.

Roy McAfee, Fredericksburg, assistant general manager of an electronics repair company; president of community taxpayer association and Neighborhood Watch Program; founding member of the local United We Stand organization.

Keith McGinniss, King George, salesman for fiber company; chairman of King George Board of Supervisors (at age 23); commissioner of Rappahannock Area Commission.

Delceno Miles, Virginia Beach, president of public relations/marketing firm; board member of Southeastern Virginia Opportunity Project, Tidewater Council of Boy Scouts and Virginia Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Barbara Pryor, Amherst, self-employed; member of National Organization for Women and Virginia Rural Leadership Development program.

Dink Shackelford, Big Stone Gap, executive director of Virginia Mining Association; faculty of Virginia Highlands Community College; member of Governor’s Board for People with Disabilities.
Dink passed away in September 2007 after a battle with cancer.

, Abingdon, president of a law firm; former president of Virginia Trial Lawyers Association; board member of Washington County Chamber of Commerce.
