Evan Davis, a graduate of the High School Leaders Program Class of 2006, has been awarded the Harry F. Byrd Jr. Leadership Award.
This honor is presented annually to one high school senior from each of Virginia's 11 Congressional Districts. Evan won for the 2nd District.
The award comes with an impressive $10,000 scholarship.
Evan was nominated by his school and was then interviewed by a nine-member panel that was chaired by Harry Carrico, the retired Chief Justice of the Virginia Supreme Court.

Jeff McKay, a graduate of the Political Leaders Program Class of 1998, has been sworn in to serve on the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's Board of Directors.
McKay is the Alternate Member representing Fairfax County.
