Sorensen to Sponsor Fifth District Candidate Forum

The Sorensen Institute has announced that it will sponsor a Congressional Issues Forum between Virgil Goode and Tom Perriello—candidates for Congress in Virginia's Fifth District. The event will take place on Wednesday evening, September 3, from 7:30-9pm at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research in Danville. The forum will be co-sponsored by the Danville Register & Bee. Sorensen alumni and friends are encouraged to attend.

The event is part of Sorensen's Southside Public Leadership Speakers Series, which welcomed former U.S. Attorney and Attorney General candidate John Brownlee to Danville in June and will see former Secretary of Transportation Whitt Clement speak on October 9.

    Brian is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Longwood University where he teaches anthropology and archaeology. In November 2007 he was re-elected to the Buckingham County Board of Supervisors. Brian is also a graduate of the Political Leaders Program Class of 2007.
