Beginning with this post, we are happy to bring you a series of podcasts from our 2008 Alumni Reunion. The Reunion was held this past Saturday at the Richmond Marriott. Two hundred of our alumni and guests gathered to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Sorensen Institute.
In this first podcast, Director of Communications and Alumni Relations Coy Barefoot shared the resolution passed by the General Assembly earlier this year that commends the history and accomplishments of the Sorensen Institute.

Sorensen's Executive Director Bob Gibson shared these remarks at the 2008 Alumni Reunion.

Joyce Waugh, a graduate of the Political Leaders Program Class of 2006 and Chairman of the Roanoke/Southwest Regional Board, spoke briefly at the Alunni Reunion—announcing a new scholarship in honor of one of our alumni.


Two graduates from Sorensen's first year shared some of their memories at the 2008 Alumni Reunion: Nancy Finch (above), a graduate of the Political Leaders Program Class of Fall 1994, and Roy McAfee (below), a graduate of the Political Leaders Program Class of Spring 1994.


Sorensen's Coy Barefoot announces this year's Most Enthusiastic Class: the College Leaders Program Class of 2008, which had the highest turnout at the 2008 Alumni Reunion. Class Chairman Jordan Miles accepts the award.


This year's Most Philanthropic Class Award was given to the Political Leaders Program Class of 2001. Class Chairperson Jennifer McClellan accepted the award.
This year's winner of the Service to Sorensen Award was graduate Teresa Gregson, a graduate of the Political Leaders Program Class of Spring 1995.
Coy Barefoot shared these final remarks on the occasion of the 2008 Alumni Reunion this past Saturday in Richmond.
