The recent press release reads as follows:

Senator John Miller is pleased to announce Amy Richardson has been hired as his new Legislative Assistant.

Amy will oversee the operation of Senator Miller’s Newport News District office in the Teagle Building on Warwick Boulevard when the General Assembly is not in session and the Senator’s Richmond office during the legislative session that runs from January to March.

“I am very pleased to have Amy Richardson on my staff.  She brings great energy and experience to the office.  Having spent several years in the Peninsula area, Amy will be a great help in dealing with constituents and legislative issues,” Senator Miller said.

Originally from Gloucester County, Richardson earned her B.A. in Communication Studies from Christopher Newport University. Following graduation, she attended the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership at the University of Virginia where she was a Governor Linwood Holton Fellow.

Amy serves on the boards for the Wolf Trap Theater Young Professional Society in Vienna, Virginia and the Alumni Society for Christopher Newport University.  She recently worked in Finance at the Democratic Party of Virginia headquarters in Richmond.

“I am excited to work with Senator Miller and for the people of the First District,” Richardson said. “Senator Miller is a strong advocate for education, children and improving our transportation system.  I look forward to helping him with those priorities and I plan to continue the Senator’s commitment to constituent services and outreach to the community.”
