Welcome home Ryan Benton (CLP '05)
Sep 29 2010 - 4:35pm

Sorensen alum Ryan Benton (CLP '05) is arriving back in Virginia this week after serving fifteen (15) months as a contract employee assisting the American military in Afghanistan. Since July of 2009, Ryan has served as an Assistant Site Manager for the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security (INSCOM) as a language contractor in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom for Global Linguist Solutions. He job entailed the recruitment and management of Iraqi Nationals who provided interpretation and translation services in support of U.S. Forces.

When discussing his return to Virginia, Ryan remarked, "Some folks have told me that when they get home, they can't get warm; but I think I am ready for a Virginia fall. We haven't had a day below 103 since May!" Ryan is very excited to get back to his friends and family but will continue to keep the American service men and women is leaving behind in Iraq in his thoughts and prayers.

The Sorensen Institute is proud of all our alumni who decide to serve their country and we are honored by their service. Welcome home Ryan; we're glad you're back!
