Your first job ever? Stable hand in Anchorage, Alaska. It doesn’t smell in the winter, but you have to chip it off the floor.
Favorite book? The Bible—source document for the moral foundation of the world.
Favorite movie? The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
Comfort food? Onion rings and amber ale.

First political memory? Report of the assassination of President Kennedy over the shortwave radio in Okinawa where we were residing.
Whom do you admire and why? Milton Friedman, who had a better understanding of economics than any one who has ever served in a public capacity.
Best advice you ever got? If you play with s---, you get it on ya.
If you could have dinner with any one currently living, whom would it be and why? Robert Bork. Probably the most taut, disciplined legal mind of our generation who respects the Constitutional role of the judiciary in a free society more so than most sitting judges.
Describe a perfect day. One without wants or cares. Oh, wait, since Obama was elected I have that now.
One thing most people might be surprised to learn about you? Former Mayor of Newport Beach, California
