Name: Stephen Scott
Age: 30
Born: Grew up around Roanoke. I've lived in different parts of Virginia including Williamsburg and the Northern Virginia.
Current Digs: Fluvanna County – in beautiful Central Virginia.
Occupation: Advisor/consultant - IBM Marketing, Communications & Corporate Citizenship
Favorite part about the job: Working with innovative people to address broad, societal-level issues and opportunities to help make the world a smarter, better place.
Your first job ever? Cleaning and painting gym floors with my father's floor business in the summers.
Favorite book? Besides the Bible, I've always been a fan of enduring classics (e.g., anything Aristotle).
Favorite movie? Hard to say. Some that stick out are: Braveheart, 12 Angry Men, and Monty Python.
Comfort food? Pasta. Especially, bowtie pasta with Kielbasa mixed with red and green peppers.
What's in your car CD player right now? I like NPR. In terms of music, I listen to a hodgepodge, preferring what is wholesome and uplifting ... Folk, classical, big band, Latin, etc.
Next journey? Every day is a journey, but I have hundreds of places around the world I'd like to visit before I check out.
Favorite Virginia vacation spot? Williamsburg. It's beautiful, it's historic, and it's the home of my alma mater.
First political memory? I remember listening to Ronald Reagan's speeches as a youngster.
Whom do you admire and why? I greatly admire people who muster the courage, compassion and grace to carry big burdens on behalf of others.
Best advice you ever got? The wisdom summed up in this quote from Jim Elliot: "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose."
If you could have dinner with any one currently living, whom would it be and why? I'd like to meet with Colin Powell to learn something from a true leader and statesman.
Describe a perfect day. A day with family and good friends somewhere in the sunshine away from mundane distractions.
One thing most people might be surprised to learn about you? I have twin boys.
Ambition, political or otherwise? Be a great husband and father. Seek out opportunities to make meaningful, lasting, positive impact where I can.
