"Points of Light (POL) Military Initiatives Division has created the Community Blueprint—a tool and framework administered by POL—to help communities engage veterans, service members and their families. Additionally, POL manages a successful and growing portfolio of AmeriCorps programs including the Veteran Leader Corps, an AmeriCorps National Direct Program. Each of these emerging programs will utilize AmeriCorps members in innovative strategies of volunteer engagement, volunteer leadership and community development through mobilizing veterans, military members, and their families.

With the expansion of the Community Blueprint Initiative Points of Light will be moving to a two-region management system for both the Blueprint and Veteran Leader Corps programs.

The Manager for Military Initiatives will be responsible for all aspects of development and execution of the Veteran Leader Corps and Community Blueprint program both at the National Office and at local host sites and cities throughout the Western Region. The Western region currently includes the following states and territories North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Hawaii."
