First job ever?  Flipping burgers at Burger King when I was 15. It lasted six months, then I worked at Hechinger's Home Improvement.
Favorite book?  Waking The Dead by John Eldridge
Favorite movie? The Golden Child starring Eddie Murphy
Must-see TV?  Lost and Grey's Anatomy!
Comfort food?  Celery—just kidding, pizza
What's in your car CD player right now?  Warren G and Nate Dogg, early 90's rap, plus Whitney Houston's first album
Next journey? Probably Puerto Rico
Last gift you received?  A book, Virginia in the Vanguard by Frank Atkinson
Whom do you admire and why? Jesus
Christ, because He told it like it is, how it was, and how it should
be; and He showed people unconditional love.
Best advice you ever got? People are looking for a leader, so why not be one? Quitters never win, and winners never quit. My father told me that.
If you could have dinner with any one currently living, whom would it be and why? Beyonce Knowles, because outside of my Mom she is the most incredible woman on the planet.
Describe a perfect day.  I wake up, eat a huge pancake breakfast in Hawaii, take a nap, go for a hike, then go snorkeling, watch the ocean, play basketball in the afternoon, and enjoy a candle-lit dinner by the beach in the evening with my special lady (Beyonce)
One thing most people might be surprised to learn about you? I like Country music, and I used to be overweight when I was a kid.
Ambition, political or otherwise? To serve the people of my community and my state.

    Class of 2006

    Governor Tim Kaine appointed Carlos to the Virginia Tobacco Settlement Foundation Board of Trustees.  In addition to appointing healthcare professionals and the representatives of public health organizations to this board, the Governor appoints up to eight citizens—including two youths. Carlos will graduate from the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in the spring of 2008.
