Dr. Ralph Northam, a member of the Virginia Senate, was a guest today on "Charlottesville—Right Now! with Coy Barefoot." Topics included his proposed Homestead Exemption legislation, thoughts on his first General Assembly session, transportation, and much more.
Dr. Northam is a graduate of the Candidate Training Program Class of 2007.

Delegate Chris Peace, a graduate of the Political Leaders Program Class of 2004, was a guest this afternoon on "Charlottesville—Right Now! with Coy Barefoot." He discussed Ken Cuccinelli's campaign for Attorney General and the statewide races of 2009, the U.S. Senate race this year, the General Assembly session, transportation, taxes, and more.
The Sorensen Institute's Youth Programs were the subject of a recent episode of HearSay with Cathy Lewis on WHRO in Hampton Roads.

Bob Gibson was a guest yesterday afternoon on "Charlottesville—Right Now! with Coy Barefoot." State Advisory Board member Paul Harris, a former member of the Virginia House of Delegates, also joined the conversation by phone. They discussed the recent news that Bob has been named the new Executive Director at the Sorensen Institute.
Bob breaks the news that he will continue as a columnist with the Daily Progress and as host of Evening Edition on WVTF. Paul also shares his thoughts about reports that he is being encouraged to consider a run for Attorney General in Virginia in 2009.

Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling was a guest again yesterday afternoon on WINA's "Charlottesville—Right Now!" He discussed news from the General Assembly (the budget, the defeated no-smoking-in-restaurants legislation, the bill to allow guns in, and more). He also shared his thoughts on the resignation of President Gene Nichol from the College of William and Mary and the surprise resignation of a Board member in protest.
Quentin Kidd is an Associate Professor of Government at Christopher Newport University. He joined Coy Barefoot on "Charlottesville—Right Now!" last week to discuss the Virginia primaries and POTUS 08. What do the results say about Virginia politics? Quentin also shared his thoughts on the 2008 General Assembly session with a focus on the budget shortfall.
