Sorensen to Sponsor Fifth District Candidate Forum

The Sorensen Institute has announced that it will sponsor a Congressional Issues Forum between Virgil Goode and Tom Perriello—candidates for Congress in Virginia's Fifth District. The event will take place on Wednesday evening, September 3, from 7:30-9pm at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research in Danville. The forum will be co-sponsored by the Danville Register & Bee. Sorensen alumni and friends are encouraged to attend.

The Sorensen Institute's College Leaders Program Class of 2008 celebrated its graduation on Saturday, June 28 in the historic Dome Room of the University of Virginia Rotunda.

The members of CLP08 selected Ben Schultz of the College of William and Mary to be its Class Speaker at this event.

Former U.S. Attorney John Brownlee, a candidate for Virginia Attorney General in the 2009 election, spoke last night in Danville on the topic of public service and leadership. The event was the final talk for the 07-08 season of the Sorensen Institute's Southside Public Leadership Speakers Series.
